The TEAL Heart Project is The Foundation’s signature year-round Autism awareness and fundraising program. TEAL is more than a color to our cause, TEAL is an acronym meaning to Thrive, Experience, Adapt and Live. The Dual Heart Walls represent The SMART Foundation’s unique Dual Model and its inclusive components of wellness and care combined with access and opportunities to participate. The Jagged Edges signify the intricate nature and challenges children with Autism and other disabilities must overcome for equal access and opportunities.

Medicaid, health insurance and school districts do not pay for the treatment of Autism. Right Now, Colorado families have the highest out-of-pocket costs for Autism treatment in the nation, while  ranking 49^th in the percentage of state revenue funding services to people with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Right Now, 87% of families afflicted with Autism live in poverty.

Show Your Heart Day Events are on-premise awareness and fundraising events held on the 3rd Friday of each month. These are flexible events offering a variety of formats to fit most any business, brand and location.
